GROMMET HGK SUPER COOLING Pro G16E t=0.8
With SUPER COOLING, we have revised the flow of the coolant to reduce the variation in knock limit between cylinders.
HKS Grommet type structure
This gasket is a stronger version of the conventional stopper type for tuning turbochargers.
*This product requires you to machine the head and block yourself.
Note: The photos shows the closed deck model.
①② The cooling water passages flowing into the front head have been enlarged to improve cooling of the entire head.
③ Added cooling water channel for the direct injector seal
⇒ If necessary, machine grooves in the head as shown in the photo.
④⑤ Add a cooling water passage between the cylinders
⇒ Drill a hole vertically through the block and head to match the gasket hole position.
Stock GASKET vs HKS GROMMET GASKET
With the stock gasket, knocking occurs in the No. 2 cylinder, which tends to trap heat, so even though the ignition timing is retarded by 1° compared to the other cylinders, the No. 2 cylinder has the highest knock level.
[SUPER COOLING Pro GASKET]
Tests were conducted with the ignition timing set to the same for all three cylinders.
There was almost no difference between the cylinders, and no knocking occurred randomly in any three cylinders.
