*1. Height from road surface to fender arch.
*2. Height at factory is the data tested at HKS with the setting of Full Kit. (HKS' recommended setting.)
*3. Adjustable range (However, the lowest value may not be road legal.
Even within the adjustable range, car body, arm etc. may contact. In such case, it will be hard to drive.
Damper oil leakage or any other problems caused by low ride height setting from the factory setting will void the warranty of the product.)
*4. Drivable range that there is no contact of car body or arms etc. (However, change of tire/wheel size may cause a problem.)
Caution). Actual data depends on each vehicle.

Point

Responding to a lot of anticipates from the customers who enjoy circuit driving, the MAX IV SP for RX-8 is now available.
All-around damping force setting was made from a street to circuit drive without too much stiffness/softness by reducing an excessive damping force.
A test vehicle used a model "Spirit R" equipped with LSD and the tires changed to ADVAN A052, 18-inch that is assuming the compatibility for recent more high-grip tires. For achieving the best damping force setting without any deficient or excessive spring rate or damping force, a final check was held at a racing course in Fuji Speedway.
RX-8 is a car that is difficult to ensure sufficient rear stroke amount due to the rear suspension shape. For ensuring the stroke amount by employing the ride height adjuster thread cutting part to the shock body length adjustable bracket. Overcoming the weak point of RX-8 and improved the stability of a car.
Ensures the stroke amount by using helper springs at the top and bottom of the spring even though a high rate spring is used at the front (16K)/at the rear (10K). As a result, it sufficiently improves ground contact properties.
We recommend the setting around 15 to 20 steps for street use, 5 to 10 steps for circuit use depending on your preference.
When changing the vehicle height of the rear, adjust the thread length in the same adjusted amount as the shock body length. Note: The rear shock body length in the table is a reference value due to using the dedicated shaped spring in the shock body. Make sure the engagement of the locking spring, when adjusting the length especially at the near lower limit.
The stock upper mount may contact the bracket lock nut when the piston rod fully compressed if setting the rear shock body length shorter than the lower limit for driving.
The spring seat may contact the bracket lock nut when the piston rod fully extended if setting the rear shock body length longer than the upper limit for driving.
When changing the vehicle height of the rear more than 5 mm higher than the height at the shipment, set the shock body length at the upper limit then adjust the height only by thread length by applying the pre-load to the spring.
Clearance from the ground has been confirmed in the tested vehicle equipped with 225/40R19 tires. Please be careful an under panel, fuel tank and, catalyzer not to touch with the ground due to the small ground clearance of RX-8. Especially please pay attention when using the common size of 265/35R18, 245/40R18 that has a small outer diameter.
