  • The turbocharger is latest available exclusively for the 86/BRZ, combining the GT4525 and GT4135 CHRAs with specially designed turbo and compressor housings.
  • The layout and specifications of the Catalytic Converter are made for the late-model engine, and a newly designed heat shield obtains a certificate of emission test results.
  • You can enjoy 177kw (241ps) with GT4525 and 210kW (285ps) with GT4135 turbocharger with the stock engine.

  • To compare the boosting characteristics of each turbo, we compared the rpm rise time on the chassis dynamometer at the same boost pressure setting.
  • When accelerating at full throttle from low rpm, the GT4525 with the lowest maximum power reaches 6000 rpm the fastest.
    The example shown in the left graph, there is a 1.5 second difference when comparing the time to reach 4000 rpm.

Based on the above, GT4525 provides the more output at the low rpm while corning or street driving, which makes feel driving faster.

Turbo Selection

GT4525 is designed for street driving and track racing. GT4135 has the characteristic for high output at high rpm and plenty of room for step-up.
If you are interested in high power with engine enhancement, please choose GTIII-RS.

* Because GT4525 is set to use up all of the turbo capacity, increasing boost pressure does not improve maximum output.
Those who consider stepping up to the next level, please choose GT4135 or GTIII-RS.

Turbo swap after kit installation

GT4525, GT4135, and GTIII-RS each has a different center housing, resulting in a different water piping configuration and oil piping thread size.

Japanese Vehicle Emission Test Result Certificate

HKS has obtained the "Japanese Vehicle Emission Test Result Certificate" for BOLT ON TURBO specification vehicles.

HKS kit configuration is as same as the images on the certificate and the actual vehicle, allowing for Japanese vehicle inspection.

To obtain emission certificate

A new front pipe with Catalytic Converter has been developed to obtain Japanese emission certification which has become stricter on latest vehicle model inspection.

  1. The Catalytic Converter position has been moved closer to the turbo outlet to improve exhaust gas purification performance during cold startup
  2. In order to improve emission purification performance throughout the entire range, the number of cells is increased while maintaining power output.
  3. In order to move the catalyst position closer to the turbo, the catalyst outer diameter is reduced from D113 mm to D100 mm and the layout behind the radiator.
    Newly designed heat shields were fabricated to avoid heat damage in the confined space.
