STEP1
Simply installing GTIII-RS turbine to the stock NA engine enables the engine to transform to a turbocharged engine providing an unique feeling and overwhelming engine power increase that an NA engine cannot provide.
STEP2
The engine output reaches 350hp simply by increasing the boost pressure using HKS "EVC" the representative of a boost controller.
STEP3
Reinforcing the engine maximizes the air volume from GTIII-RS to increase the boost pressure. The engine output can reach over 400ps depending on the type of the exhaust system.
STEP1
TOYOTA 86, SCION FR-S, and SUBARU BRZ are equipped with the 2-litter Boxer NA engine that has 86 mm bore and 86 mm stroke. This engine has become very popular because of its excellent handling property by a low center of gravity, good fuel efficiency by a variable valve timing, and natural power feeling.
HKS released a kit to install a turbocharger to this NA engine for 86, BRZ, and FR-S to drastically modify its characteristics and engine performance.
340hp/40kgf・m of high power and high torque is obtainable even with the stock engine, and overwhelming engine performance just like a turbocharged engine. To withstand this high performance, installing "LA CLUTCH", which includes a lightweight flywheel and clutch cover, is recommended for the optimal performance.
For track and spirited driving HKS recommends installing oil cooler kit from STEP 2.

STEP2
Step 2 is to achieve the maximum allowable engine output within with the stock engine. The engine output reaches 350hp simply by increasing the boost pressure using HKS "EVC" the representative of a boost controller.
To suppress the engine oil temperature rise caused by high engine output, installation of the oil cooler kit is recommended.

STEP3
To maximize the role of GTIII-RS Turbine Kit and achieve higher performance, HKS provides the 2.1L Stroker Kit including the crankshaft, connecting rods, and forged pistons, intake and exhaust camshaft set, and metal head gasket for an optimal compression ratio.
The compression ratio can be selected freely by a choice of a piston and gasket according to the target boost pressure and engine output. GTIII-RS turbine allows the higher boost pressure to achieve 450hp that is an unprecedented level with the FA20 engine.
