STEP1
Simply installing GT2 7040L to the stock NA engine and reflashing the ECU data by Flash Editor using the preset data prepared specifically for the engine allow the engine to achieve 250ps with linear feeling.
STEP2
Upgrading the fuel system and power train achieves 300ps engine horsepower.
STEP3
Reinforcing the NA engine and using high profile camshafts improve the engine output increase at a high engine RPM and provide the spectacular feeling of acceleration.
STEP1
TOYOTA 86, SCION FR-S, and SUBARU BRZ are equipped with the 2-litter Boxer NA engine that has 86 mm bore and 86 mm stroke. This engine has become very popular because of its excellent handling property by a low center of gravity, good fuel efficiency by a variable valve timing, and natural power feeling.
However, the stock engine performance may be unsatisfactory compared with its high rigid body and specifications of the brake and suspension. To improve this feeling of unsatisfactoriness, GT-2 SUPERCHARGER increases the power of the stock NA engine. As "Step 1", the parts required to install GT2-SUPERCHARGER to the stock NA engine are listed.
For track and spirited driving HKS recommends installing oil cooler kit from STEP 2.

STEP2
As "Step 2" followed by Step 1, HKS recommends the parts to upgrade the power and torque within the stock engine's remaining power.
The target performance of Step 1 is +50hp of the stock engine. For Step 2, upgrading the fuel system and exhaust system increases the engine power to 300hp.
To suppress the engine oil temperature rise caused by engine output increase, installation of the oil cooler kit is recommended. Also, to improve the engine response and driving force, "LA CLUTCH" including a lightweight flywheel and clutch cover is recommended for the optimal performance.

STEP3
Step 3 is the final weapon for those who cannot satisfy with the output of Step 1 and Step 2.
The stock engine internal parts are designed for an NA engine and focused on providing a better feeling: the connecting rod is very thin, and bearing width is very narrow to reduce friction loss. The maximum engine output is limited to 350hp. To exceed this limit, HKS provides the 2.1L Stroker Kit including the crankshaft, connecting rods, and forged pistons, intake and exhaust camshaft set, and metal head gasket for an optimal compression ratio. These products enable the engine transform to withstand over 300hp.
